Product Description

Cord Anchorage Torque Tester / Power Cord Tension and Torque Tester

Description:
This device is design and manufactured accord to the requirements of IEC 60335-1 clause 25.15,
GB2486 and relevant standards. It is use to perform tension and torque test on the power cord. It is
used to test the strength of connections.
Accordding to the standard IEC 60335-1 Clause 25.15
–“Appliances provided with a supply cord, and appliances intended to be permanently connected to
fixed wiring by a flexible cord, shall have a cord anchorage. The cord anchorage shall relieve
conductors from strain, including twisting, at the terminals and protect the insulation of the
conductors from abrasion.
It shall not be possible to push the cord into the appliance to such an extent that the cord or
internal parts of the appliance could be damaged.
Compliance is checked by inspection, by manual test and by the following test.
A mark is made on the cord while it is subjected to the pull force shown in Table 12, at a
distance of approximately 20 mm from the cord anchorage or other suitable point.
The cord is then pulled, without jerking, for 1 s in the most unfavourable direction with the force
specified. The test is carried out 25 times.
The cord, unless on an automatic cord reel, is then subjected to a torque that is applied as close
as possible to the appliance. The torque is specified in Table 12 and is applied for 1 min.

During the tests, the cord shall not be damaged and shall show no appreciable strain at the
terminals. The pull force is reapplied and the cord shall not be longitudinally displaced by more
than 2 mm.”

Preparation before the test

1, First of all, equipment should be placed in the horizontal plane, can not have clear tilt, and then lock the caster brake.

2, For the sample selection of the tension weight and torque weight, For example, toaster is 2.5kg, then choose 60N tension weight (2 pc s of 30N) and 12.5N torque weight.

3, Sample Installation: As shown below, the sample installation must ensure that the tension weight and torsion weight lanyard in a stretched state, and the specimen against the outside of the fixture, power cord clamping end is in a level state. Methods of operation are as follows:

3.1, adjust [up and down adjustment hand wheel], to keep sample power cord pinout and the power cord clamp end in a level state. Hold the specimen against the outside of the fixture and clamp the power cord.

3.2, bounce 【jig release】 button, the light is on at this time, hang up the torsion weight, catch the torsion weight when the torsion strap is tightened, and ensure that the clamping end of the power cord is still in the horizontal state at this moment.

3.3,Press [start], when the pull weight tray at the lowest point [stop], put a height pad. Put the tension weight on the height pad, and then straighten the tension lanyard to hang the weight hanger, and make tension lanyard in a stretched state by adjusting the tension wheel.

2, Clamp a sample, mark the position of 20mm at the pinout

3, Pre-set standards requirement [test times] and [test time].

4, press【reset】, clear current【test times】.

Normal test

1, Remove height pad, press 【Start】, the device starts tension test. When reaching preset 【test times】it will automatically release torque weight and starts torque test. When reaching【test time】, manually lift the torsion weight to complete whole test.

2, Using a caliper to measure the length of the symbol from the exit, the reading minus 20mm is the amount of elongation after the test.

3, For a second test, we must press reset button to execute.
